There’s nothing more annoying (well, there is, but…) than investing in a good computer and peripherals only to experience connectivity issues. Ah, but don’t despair! There are a few easy steps you can take to troubleshoot connectivity issues. Here are the things I find easiest to do when I have what seems to be connectivity trouble…
First, I check the Wi-Fi connection. If you have no Wi-Fi symbol showing where it should be then you know that is your issue and you need to get that up and running optimally.
If you don’t see any wireless networks to connect to, you may also want to check your network hardware to be sure all of your cables are connected firmly in place.
Another thing I do when I have connectivity issues is to turn off the device in question and wait at least 30 seconds before turning it on again.
If that doesn’t work, sometimes connectivity issues can be fixed by simply rebooting your system.
You can also try resetting your wireless connection. Sometimes all it takes is a little refresh to get your local connection working properly.
If your connection happens to be wired, make sure your cables are properly connected. Removing and reconnecting those may also provide a quick fix.
If you are unable to solve what looks to be a network connection issue, a call to your service provider for technical support could help.
