We all know the old adage, “It’s too good to be true.” It’s all too true and it applies to Facebook scams. So beware!
There are online scammers who pose as someone who wants to sell a car at an unbelievable price. Maybe they say they are getting a divorce, their mom died or they have financial wows and simply need fast cash. Be careful, because anyone selling a vehicle, no matter the circumstances, isn’t likely to try to do it at a preposterously low price.
Sometimes it is hard to tell between the truth and fiction when it comes to Facebook scams, but one thing is for sure. If it seems way too cheap, it probably is.
The same holds true for other items too, such as vacation and home rentals. Sadly, there are numerous new stories covering people who have been scammed out of thousands of dollars and left with no vacation or even no home. It’s true! Scammers pretend to own houses that aren’t theirs, requiring a deposit that is usually impossible to recover…and imagine giving up your current home and showing up at your new one to find out you are now homeless!
